Other Competent Business
John Watson was thanked for his role in getting shiretrust to the stage of the first AGM and for getting the trust’s website up and running.
Ian Ramsay asked if John would continue to offer support and help to shiretrust and John replied that he would like to continue to offer any help and assistance that the committee or shiretrust members may request and that in particular he would like to continue to mange the website as a means of keeping in touch with the trust’s members.
It was suggested that there may be a conflict of interest in the Club’s auditors and the shiretrust’s auditors both being French Duncan. It was explained that it had been essential to appoint auditors to oversee the accountants and the election of the committee to ensure that everything was conducted in the proper manner. Whilst recognising that there may be a potential conflict of interest in the future it had been the considered view of the acting office bearer’s that appointing a local fully qualified Chartered Accounting Company such as French Duncan was in the best interests of the shiretrust members. It is open to the new committee to appoint other auditors as they see fit and will require the endorsement of a vote at an Annual General Meeting.
It was suggested that the committee approach Littlewoods Pools to purchase shares in East Stirlingshire FC on behalf of shiretrust.
Arrange a sponsor for the club strip who would be willing to place “shiretrust” on the strip rather than a company name.
shiretrust should attempt to gain shares in the club via share transfers.
Shiretrust should be seen to be supporting the manager who is doing his best for the club.
The chairman thanked all for attending and closed the meeting.
